The WMS 2023 Annual Congress will be open for both in-person and virtual attendance. Delegates will be asked to select their attendance type during the registration process.
Delegate fees for in-person and virtual attendance are listed below. In-person delegates will automatically have access to the virtual platform.
We strongly recommend that delegates select the relevant attendance type for catering and badging purposes, and to aid our sustainability efforts, avoid waste and disappointments. Transfers between attendance types (in-person & virtual) should your situation change nearer the time, will be accepted until 1st September 2023 and must be requested in writing to registration@worldmusclesociety.org. Please note that you must first register before submitting an abstract. When submitting an abstract with multiple authors, only the presenting author must complete the Declaration of Conflict of Interest. We do not require the Conflict of interest from all authors of the same paper.

Group Registration Requirements
WMS2023 sessions will be streamed from the congress venue in Charleston, and e-posters will also be shared virtually. Industry symposia will be available online and on demand. We have learned from the last few years and we are working hard to design an inclusive, engaging event for all our attendees.
Access to the virtual platform will be provided to registered in-person and virtual participants. Most of the live streamed sessions will be available online on the virtual platform for up to 3 months post-congress and transferred to the WMS website thereafter, for WMS Members to access.
If you want to benefit from Member discounts (see below), please make sure your Society 2023 Membership is active (and will be active for the duration of the Congress) before proceeding with your registration. You can do this by logging into your WMS account on the Society website here. You will not have the option to purchase or renew your membership during your Congress registration process above. Your Congress registration type must match your Society Membership type.

Patient Advocacy Groups
We have created a registration package for Patient Advocacy Groups. The package includes up to 2 registration tickets for the scientific representatives of the organisation and a table in the exhibition area to engage with delegates and raise awareness. The group will also be showcased alongside the exhibitors in the congress floorplan, virtual portal and app. Registrations will close on 11 August 2023.
Student Registrations
Relevant for a medical student, a medical doctor in training to acquire their primary speciality, a PhD student, a post doc, an MSC student or equivalent. The delegate must have no direct interest/shares in a pharmaceutical company or more than 50% employed by a profit-making organisation. If you are unclear about your student status, please contact Prof. Laurent Servais on secretary@worldmusclesociety.org for guidance.
Non-member students will be asked to provide a scan of a valid student ID and a letter from their course supervisor confirming they have an ongoing student project and the details (maximum of one side of A4 on headed paper) and/or confirming their student status and the date until which this status is granted. The letter must confirm Undergraduate, Basic or Medical Student, Master, PhD student, resident in training or post doc status. The letter should ideally be in English. If this is not possible, then important key words should be underlined. You will be required to upload these documents during registration.
Industry Registrations - Industry In-Person tickets have reached capacity and a wait list has been implemented.
Relevant for delegates in the Pharmaceutical and Industry sectors. By selecting this registration type, you are stating that you have direct interest/shares in a pharmaceutical company or are more than 50% employed by a profit-making organisation.
Please note that, as with previous annual congresses, member & non-member Industry registrations for WMS 2023 will be capped at 20% of the overall registrations available. Sponsor & Exhibitor package tickets are included in this 20%.
The purpose of this cap is to ensure that the congress remains an open and welcoming forum where scientific curiosity can flourish, the discussion is heated, and new collaboration networks are born.
To manage the 20% cap, the organisers have set registration limits per sponsorship level. It is the responsibility of each sponsoring organisation to manage their limit globally and to instruct their staff to use their business e-mail address when registering.If you can see your organisation is a confirmed sponsor on our sponsors page but if you are not sure who the global coordinator is please contact the organisers.
Limited Industry registrations from non-sponsoring organisations are also available. These tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year, there is no limit on Industry Virtual Tickets per global organisation. We will of course monitor and review the situation regularly to make sure that this Industry attendance opportunity across all ticket types is being used fairly, and by a wide selection of industry partners and attendees, rather than dominated by a select few.

Sponsor/Exhibitor Registrations
Representatives of confirmed sponsor and exhibitor organisations will be sent bespoke registration links once sponsorship agreements have been confirmed with the organisers. These links will be provided to the global coordinator in each organisation. Sponsor/Exhibitor tickets provide the same level of access to congress sessions and virtual platform features as delegate congress tickets. Pre-Congress Teaching Course tickets can be booked separately during registration (the above fees apply).
Agency Registrations
Agencies can complete and submit registrations on behalf of the attendees via the relevant button above (for groups of any size, from 1 group member). The agency representative will be required to created a Group Co-ordinator account first, then proceed to register the individuals as per the instructions on the group registration form. Group Co-ordinators will be required to provide mandatory information on behalf of the delegates. If this information is not provided, it may delay the review of the application for registration. Billing information will be requested as part of the Group Co-ordinator's form, and this information will be used on all your group invoices. You can sign back into your group registration form at any time to finalise registrations and add new group members to your existing group. Registered participants who are unable to attend the congress must forward a written cancellation (by email) to the WMS Congress Secretariat.
Refunds of the registration fee (minus 20% for administration costs) and optional social activities will be granted if notification of cancellation reaches the Secretariat in writing on or before 1st August 2023. After this date, cancellations will not be refunded. Refunds will be processed after the congress. No refunds will be granted in case of no show.
